I'll be safe in the prince's bed, from everyone but him.

I stole from a brutal street gang, and now they want me dead. There’s only one place they can’t touch me. The palace. But safety comes at the cost of my freedom. I'll sell myself as a courtesan, serve for five years, and leave with enough money to pay my debt.

Crown Prince Adante wields his power like a knife, and when his gaze turns my way, I know he could destroy me. An innocent mistake earns his attention—along with bruised knees and a painful punishment.

I should listen to the others. I shouldn't catch his eye again. But I've always courted danger, and in the prince, I see a chance at power and revenge. He loves to gamble—sadistic games of pleasure and pain.

All I can wager are my body, mind, and soul. And I play to win.

Zara began writing in her thirties after reading a series of “fade to black” fantasy books and wondering why the hell the author didn’t make them smuttier.

Challenge, accepted.

She loves creating magical fantasy worlds, turbulent relationships and dark, kinky heroes (who could be villains if you squint a bit.)

When she’s not thinking up ways to torment her characters, Zara lives on the beautiful Gold Coast, Australia with two kiddos and a husband who make her real life far more magical than her stories.

The book gods knew that I had a busy week at work and decided to give me an ARC for this engrossing book! I want to start by saying if you have absolutely any responsibilities, be prepared to want to avoid them all and binge read this book. I would start a task and catch myself opening my Kindle app to just read "One more chapter". While it is the second book in Zara's Ruled by Magic world, it takes place at the same time as the first book and can be read as a standalone, but seeing as the two books will be coming together in the 3rd book I recommend you read them both. This book was filled with plot, spic and a heroin with more than two brain cells. I promise you this book will not disappoint.

While you completely can read this book (and the other one in the series) as standalones, reading them both gives a lot more insight in the events of either one. We really get more depth and information about certain events in the other book.

I didn’t know it was possible, but I fell in love with Andante (shocker, right?)! He and Talia just worked so well together and I enjoyed these characters a lot. I loved how their relationship changed and grew and the respect they do have for each other.

Holy. Fuck.

So Talia and Adante's story takes place in the same timeline as Book #1 (Owned by Magic). It's a standalone sequel, but it was nice to catch on to the subtle Leo references and understand what Adante is dealing with outside of the bedroom.

Talia is bold, brilliant, and ballsy. She feels like a real person, with her mistakes and trouble coping. This book is definitely darker than the previous, but it's completely understandable why - the worlds and their social structure are completely different.

Adante is clearly a darker shade of morally grey, but it's refreshing to see more from his perspective and learn more about life in the palace. I'm so glad Leo didn't grow up there.

Neeve is a great side character, loved her from the start. Talia is so used to having to watch out for herself and being whined at by mom/sister, Neeve gave her the outlet she needed in that awful place.

The story moves quickly, the spicy scenes are literally unparalleled for positive BDSM-kink representations and CNC. There wasn't as much aftercare with this one as the previous one, for obvious reasons. They are definitely going to grapple with the concept of feelings for awhile.

Please let that gross king die. Soon. Ick.

I read this as an ARC and i have not read book 1. However I will be downloading it as well. With that being said book 2 can be read as a standalone but they do link together and I think will be good to read before the last book is released.

Now, They book was really good!! Had some really hot steamy scenes that I really enjoyed... I was afraid I would not like the Prince but he was definitely yummy.

As always check triggers, it wasnt too dark in my opinion but some people may find it dark. Over all I really liked this book and will continue the series..

Wow just wow. I'm finna need some time to digest WTF I just read.

This story follows Thalia, a 24 year old slum girl on the run from a street gang she stole from. When her application to join the royal palace collection is accepted, she sees this as a way out.

The collection is basically a group of 50 personal consorts that serve the sexual needs of the noble and royal men. Service lasts 5 years and in return the women are compensated for the next 50 years of their life.

Our girl thought this was going to be a high priced escort situation where she got to dress up pretty and entertain in a private room. She did not think she'd be forced to walk around in a g-strip like a zoo animal and be treated as a slave/sex toy. But she's a tough cookie and if nothing else adaptable.

Sadly, while she's safe behind the palace walls the gang she owes goes after her family. To prevent this she decides to try and win the Royal Prince's favor which would raise her position and send a message to the community that if they mess with her family there will be consequences.

Problem is the Prince, is a muther fking sadist. This is probably one of the darkest bully romances I've ever read. It's a good thing our girl can roll with the degradation and has a high pain tolerance because holy freaking shit that man does not play games.

She's whipped, tied up, collared, and denied basic needs as punishment. So many times, my heart fluttered out of fear for her, for all the women! Soo many times I thought this could not be a romance, that this was going to end in her shanking dude like Prison Break.

Then you know, I got to ask myself WTF is wrong with me that I'm into this. Like let my man, or any man collar me and chain me to the floor and force me to drink out of a bowl, swear I'd Lorena Bobbitt them so hard.

Long story short this was a really good read. LOL I did not read book one because from how I read the blurbs this one did not follow it. However, in the author's note for book 3, it suggests reading book 1. So, I'm going to do that before starting 3, because YES reading book 3 is a need.

There are a lot of unanswered questions and dangers that need to be addressed. With that said, there is no cliff hanger and I believe with my entire heart you could read just this book and be satisfied.

I highly recommend.

Ruled By Magic is a deliciously dark story featuring a strong woman who is left with no choice but to join the palace collection of beautiful women for the nobles to enjoy. Her cleverness and ability to withstand pain gets her close to the prince himself, a cruel and dangerous man with more than a sadistic edge. This page turner has the perfect balance of plot and dark spice. All the characters are believable and you will be rooting for Talia straight away, even whilst despairing at her situation and how she managed to fall for such a man.

Loved this book more the the first book!! Both books take place at the same time, but in two different places. Spice in this book was a 4/5! Loved Talia, she was great, she followed the rules but also stepped out of line a few times when she thought it was need and she knew and excepted the punishment. She was also smart and witty. Adante was the perfect dark prince. Perfect villain, he will give her the match to burn down the world!!!!

I am team Adante/Talia sorry Leo/Liv!!!

I can not wait to see what book 3 holds!!! I need Adante to win!!!
This was an ARC book for me.

Ok, technically it was a beta read, not the final version, but OH MY GOSH I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD TO READ THIS BOOK!

I was worried about Adante. Like, I hated him in book 1. How was Zara going to make him a love interest that I cared about?

Well, she did. I think I actually love him. I'm team Leo and team Adante, both! This book is even better than book 1. Can't wait.

I got hit by not one but two big misconceptions about this book that probably would have impacted my choice to pick it up had I know about them beforehand. The first misconception was the type of tale I was getting myself into. The covers had me expecting regular PNR style fare! The reality was that this leaned far more into kinky, edgy, bdsm style erotica than your typical PNR (even the racier ones!). The second big misconception was the fact that I thought this was the first book in the Ruled by Magic series but it turns out it is actually the second! Thanks a lot Amazon for mislabelling this on Kindle…

The good news is the fact that I ended up loving this one despite the misconceptions. This book worked great as a standalone so reading it out of sequence definitely did not hurt.

Would I have picked this one up if I’d thought it would lean so heavily into BDSM style erotica? Probably not. I was expecting fairly typical enemies to lovers tropes and for things to be as tame as my recent Alien abduction/pet romance reads. This leaned way more into kinky BDSM erotica than I expected but also managed to weave in a solid slow burn romance and some moments of fantasy court intrigue. I’m shocked by how much I actually enjoyed what we got and definitely think I can thank reading Alien Warrior’s Pet right before this for softening me up to see of the racier nonsense we got in this tale.

Truth is I probably should have paid more attention to the blurb since it definitely hints at what we get. I was just expecting it to be tamer for some reason lol. I still blame the covers for that, they look like typical PNR fare! The set-up was pretty fun. Talia, on the run from her street gang that wants her dead, signs up to the Royal Collection to escape her fate. The Collection girls are courtesan who serve the nobility at the royal court. They serve for 5 years and then leave with a big payout. Unfortunately the street gang still targets Talia’s sister so she has to try and secure the favour of the aloof and feared Prince Adante if she wants to secure her sister’s safety and get revenge on the gang. Unfortunately for her Adante is a powerful mage with a sadistic streak that the other girls in the Collection, and the whole Court in general, fears. He has never taken a Favourite but Talia is motivated to become the first.

It was a little out there but surprisingly readable and fun. I really liked Talia as a lead character. She was tough and determined but still likeable and easy to relate to. She was in a tough spot but determined to come out of it and get her life back on track. Adante was the definition of controlling and a tad sadistic but he did soften as his relationship with Talia developed so it was eventually easy enough to root for him and Talia and their weird BDSM relationship. Definitely helped that Talia was into most of the things that happened to her.

The fantasy world felt a bit underdeveloped but was definitely intriguing with its mix of old school fantasy dynamics and more modern day magical powered tech. Adante was a magical inventor and some of the stuff he made was pretty cool. I’d have enjoyed seeing them put to more use in the story.

While this tale may have veered into kinky erotic a lot of the time I did feel like the writing was very engaging and that we got enough court intrigue and slow burn romance to keep me hooked on this tale.

I’ll double back and read the first book in the series for sure (even if it does feel like the couple in that tale have the exact same set-up dynamic as Talia and Adante).

Turns out my trip from adventure sci-fi romance to alien abduction/pet romance has now lead me into outright dark fantasy romance! I might stick with it as this series reminded me of a simpler, more sexed up, version of Captive Prince!

Rating: 4.5 stars. The was pretty short but I blasted through it pretty quickly which is always a good sign. The tale kept the tension high and the slow burn romance simmering enough that I’m going to round up to 5 stars. This had a few flaws, for sure, but I seemed to be easily able to overlook them and just go with the nonsense!

Audio Note: No official audio had me going with the Eleven Reader text-to-speech app. Definitely the best text-to-speech software on the market. Makes text-to-speech a viable option even if it still lands a good way short of actual professional narration. I’ll buy official audios if they ever appear for sure. I went with the Cat voice this time. It was nearly as good as the Jessica voice.

I was gripped straight away and couldn't put it down. Adante 🥵🥵🥵 I have no words he's something else!
I was hoping that towards the end he would allow her to lose the formality and call him by his name but nope.

I can't wait to read the next one now!

At the beginning I wasn't sure if I'm going to like that book,as its contains some triggers , however after starting 😳 I couldn't stop reading . Thank you to the author for considering me as part of her ARC team .
This book is wonderfully written , keeps you interested and it draws you in , you are trying to anticipate what's going to happen , how are lovely Talia will get back at some people and how she's is going to mould her Prince .
And let me tell you about Adante, he wasn't my favourite at the beginning, but that man ....grows on you somehow and by the end of the book ...well ,how not to love him ? ) 😀
This is a very honest and personal review . Thank you to ZJB for letting mi in on that wonderful experience, please carry on with writing as your way with words is absolutely priceless. It has been a while since book kept so focused . Thank you and well done 👏

Genre: Dark, Fantasy Romance
Series Type: Trilogy
Book Length: Novel
POV: Talia
Setting: The royal palace of Atar, an imaginary place where royalty and mages rule.
Male MC: Crown Prince Adante rules his kingdom alongside his elderly father, the King. He is powerful, intelligent, loves creating magically-laced technology and is very cold and brutal. Prince Adante is the older brother of Leopold (from Ruled by Magic) and I would estimate his age to be in the 30s or 40s. He has long black hair and dark eyes.
Female MC: Talia Rendal is a poor non-mage in the kingdom of Atar. She has recently joined the royal Collective, a group of beautiful women who enter into a 5-year long contract of servitude to the nobility in the palace, in exchange for a hefty sum of money after their term ends. She is brave, bold and very clever. Talia is 24 and has long blonde hair.
Endearment: None
Spice Level: High
Frequency of Spice: Medium/High
Angst Level: Medium
Cliffhanger: Yes
Epilogue: No
My Review: This is the second book in the Ruled by Magic series and follows the journey of Prince Adante and Talia. I’ve really enjoyed this series so far; it’s very unique and interesting. While this book doesn't’ continue the overall story, it does give us a backstory and more insight into Adante’s life. He is definitely a misunderstood villain with a deserved reputation. Adante and Talia’s relationship is dark and brutal at times but very passionate. They have great chemistry and I can’t wait for the next installment. I’m excited to see where their story leads.

Loved the world building

This was the first book I read of Zara J Black’s and I’m impressed. I really enjoyed the world she created and the story.

The FMC was super intriguing, her style and attitude really made this book. It was completely sex positive and she owned who she was and what she did. Gotta love a strong woman.

Prince Adante was definitely someone I loved to hate and hated to love lol. He was so dominate that I could feel it through the book. I liked how he didn’t change his personality as he progressed through the story- he can love Thalia while still being an ass 😂

I do wish there was a bit more development to the relationship between Thalia and Prince Adante! They fit together so well, I just wanted a bit more love and bonding amidst the angst.

Super excited for what is in store next. I want to be wrapped up in this world again.

3.5… idk. I downloaded this for some specific trope it gets recommended for. But idk what. Was it the casual violence I was curious about? Idk. But it was pretty run of the mill bdsm stuff. Spanking. Restraining. Painal. Humiliation. Edging/ orgasm denial. He slapped her face out of anger.

Was actually pretty invested in poor neeve. This was dark ish and not very romantic. The writing is good, but I didn’t really love the main characters or where the story is going. Definitely a personal issue on my end. 🥲

The Brutal Magic World

This story is actually the second book of the series but can easily be read as a stand-alone story. It is set in the same world but parallel to the storyline of book one, ending up connecting the two in book 3.

It takes place in a brutal time where the magic elites rule over all with the king and crown prince at the top. The noble class live in splendor while the commoners starve. Our FMC, Talia, is one of the lowest class, having to steal to try and survive while taking care of her sister. But when she gets in trouble with the local gang, her only chance of survival is to join The Collection, a harem of women bound to serve the nobles and royals for 5 years in all ways. But Talia is sharp witted and desperate to keep her sister safe from retaliation by the gang, and the only way to ensure that is to snag the attention of the crown prince himself, Adante. Even though the rumors of his brutality is only surpassed by the king, she sets out to seduce him with her body and her mind. But being at the mercy of powerful men is a dangerous and vulnerable situation to be in, where women have no rights and just have to take whatever they are exposed to. And Adante is no easy master to please, but Talia won't give up because he is her only option for survival.

The brutality of this world was hard to endure at times, but it kept me constantly engaged and even though it felt uncomfortable to read about, I found myself in awe of Talia's endurance. I could not have gone through even half of what she did and come out unscathed. Adante seems like a cruel MC, more than I'm used to read about, but I get that he is a product of his own upbringing and the rules of that world. It didn't feel like a love story at all though, but maybe it wasn't supposed to? Maybe I'm just used to love saving them all in the end, bringing out redeeming qualities in the main characters... I still enjoyed the story very much and will definitely want to read the other books of this series.

Bevare of these possible triggers:
degradation, violence, dub-con, non-con, psychical punishment.

I feel bad! I feel really bad I didn't read the first book too. The world is really interesting. The sorta harem idea called the "Collection" really reminds me of women in ancient China going to the palace as maids and all of them could be taken to bed if the emperor fancied them. Here stops the similarity, since there are obviously more men in that place and they can do whatever they want to the women and the women can be shared.
I like the idea that to escape from one hell she escapes to another. Well, it only becomes another hell if you treat it like that, so I really liked Talia, she's ambitious, confident, knows what she wants and who she wants and is not afraid to go for it. And she wants Adante, as soon as she enters the palace we know she wants him.
I love that she and Adante work so well, that they have that chemistry that can be seen through pages, the one you can't help but want to see them more and from what I heard, the next book will include more about them so I, for one, I'm really looking forward to that♥️.
One thing I also enjoy about this world is the contract she has to sign when she enters the palace , to be more exact, the fact that it also shows through it, just how unfair life for a woman in that world is -- so, a woman can receive a huge amount of money after the 5 years stated in the contract, but if they leave , let's say, a day earlier , they do not receive a thing , so they basically have to whitstand whatever happens in there.
Another thing I enjoy and I really want to mention is that the fashion seems to showcase the hierarchy, which I found kinda cool for some reason 😂.
Anyway, now I'm gonna go read the first book and if you're like me, I recommend you do it too.😘

I went into this book unsure of how I could possibly like it as much as I did Ruled by Magic (book #1 in the series) since that book was 1. SO SO good and 2. Prince Adante was too over the top for me (supposedly). Well, here’s to proving that the anti-hero can appeal to all dark romance readers in the right light! The book happens at the same time period as Ruled by Magic, with h Talia joining the “Collection” of courtesans at the palace for five years of service in exchange for a payout of fifty years of salary. She’s also hiding because she stole from a gang and knows this will protect her family, especially if she can catch Prince Adante’s eye. Adante has a reputation for cruelty and most collection girls steer clear, but not our girl Talia. She poses as a servant to sneak into his room one night and after he catches her and punishes her (insert super intense spicy scene) he sends her away with he promise that she will be serving him again.

The story only gets better from there, because while Talia is glad to have his attention she also has fellow collection friend who is not brave like her and was forced into this life by her father. After one particularly cruel event with the prince’s father, Talia drops a pitcher of wine purposely and forces the prince to claim her as his “Favorite” or be punished by the king. From there there’s a whole lot of smut, along with plenty of exciting storyline to weave the reader into the whole “just one more chapter” style of reader until it’s 3am and you might as well finish this book because you’re not going to bed until it’s done!

The book includes a sneak peak into Book 3 which brings back Livet- and I am HERE FOR IT! Can’t wait to see what adventures and trouble these two get themselves into.

I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

Not your usual prince in a fairytale…

This was a dark, despairing world of royalty and slums and magic and palace prostitution. There were a lot of steamy scenes I really loved, though sometimes it dipped into the not fun category.

The writing was good though predictable at times. The prince started the story as an obvious sadist but seemed to become something else towards the end and I don’t know if I feel like the transition was really addressed. She was not a true sub as she was more of a prisoner just out for survival, but it was still grating to read how she kept making obvious poor choices that had some pretty hefty consequences that could easily be avoided.

My first read by this author but won’t be my last as there is a lot of potential left in the storylines.

I was expecting the magic parts to be more archaic and primal, but instead the magic is presented as magical technology and the world is never really explained as far as the magical elements and why some people are mages in this universe while most are non-magical.

Ends with a HFN, but the couple’s story appears to continue in book 3. Also it is a bit confusing on if this is book 1 or 2 in the series as it is listed as book 1 in some places and book 2 in others. I am guessing you can read either one first since there are some parallel timelines.

I recommend this if you have the stomach for dark romance and don’t mind some severe power dynamic disparities.

Wow. I did not know what I was getting into when I started this. It’s definitely not something I’ve ever read before, way outside my OG reading zone but it exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t tell whether or not I was into it or the inner feminist in me was saying NO STOP IT! But honestly I really enjoyed it and I’m hooked and can’t wait to figure out what happens. I finally got to a book where the heroine didn’t do a stupid thing and actually did what I wanted them to. You don’t get that often but I was so happy when the FMC did the smart thing lmao. You get all the good spice from the characters with the plot, it had me on the edge of my seat times and getting so anxious and sweaty bc of second hand embarrassment/anxiety for the characters and what happens to them.
It does get sensitive at times but you wouldn’t be reading this if you couldn’t handle it ;))
***check your triggers at the beginning before you start reading***
I probably would have finished this sooner, like the day I started but I like to read multiple books at a time bc I torture myself like that and I started too late at night.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the spice, the plot and I can’t wait to continue the story!
This was an excellent read! Thank you Z.J.B

🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Utterly Captivating. You couldn’t pry my fingers from my kindle to look away even if I were dead. I started this around 9 at night thinking I’d find a healthy place to stop, only to have the healthy place be the acknowledgements at 12 in the morning. Talia and Adante are just enthralling, there’s so much depth to each of them. Talia makes me proud, her stubborn and protective nature is so well met and combated against Adante. Adante surprised me turn for turn, his “conditioning” was slowly morphed but you can tell an edge still remains from his upbringing. I cannot wait to get more closure on the hateful relationship he has (if you know, you know), here’s to a slow end! The treatment of women reminds me of certain cultures, so I almost need more information about the culture. The descriptiveness was phenomenal, truly I felt as though I had been plugged into the land.

I cannot rave enough about this book, it put me through every essential emotion up until the very end. I easily teared up, celebrated, gasped in surprise, the whole 9 yards. The journey they go on together is one neither one expected, and I’m so thankful to have gotten to experience it. This will easily be a series I reread.

I loved this book! It was something a little different to the other books that I have been reading recently, and a new author for me. I am not going to share any spoilers - the book is set in an alternative world where things work a bit differently to our reality but are similar enough to be understandable and relatable e.g., a tactical board game that is similar to chess or drafts but different. The book has strong male and female characters, abuse by those in positions of power (both in the slums and in the Royal palace), characters with the courage to stand up for what they believe in and to be brave enough to trust those who could bring about their downfall, some hot bedroom scenes, etc. Although it is a standalone, it is book 2 in the “Ruled by Magic“ series. I was initially concerned that I needed to read the books in sequence, however was assured that both books 1 and book 2 happen concurrently and hence can be read in either order. So, I will be reading book 2 next! Book 3 of the will bring the 2 parts of the story together in what I am sure will be a thrilling conclusion!

Holy Cow, I was not prepared for this book in the best possible way!! This is the first book I've read from the author and is book 2 in the Ruled by Magic Series. I am now reading book 1! It was such an interesting story and different from other dark fantasy books I've read. Talia is a woman after my own heart ! She was gutsy and strong. She was not your typical Heroine, having grown up in the slums she approached her life with a pragmatic view and didn't shy away from what she must due. In fact she was ballsy for lack of a better word in achieving her goal. Prince Adante and Her were really 2 of a kind, a perfect match! Their love story isn't for the faint of heart and its definitely not sweet. Lol But it was Everything! I can't wait for the 3rd book in the series! You can read book 1 and 2 in any order but will need to read both before book 3. This is a dark romance so please check the triggers before starting if you have them. Thank you Zara Black for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book. I'm now obsessed!!

Talia is desperate for a change, a chance to turn life around for herself, and to escape from the Hounds, a gang she worked for and stole from. By becoming a Collection girl, she chooses to become a palace whore, with the promise of enough money to secure her future after 5 years of service. Sights set on becoming the Prince's Favorite, she uses her intelligence and body to catch his eye.

Prince Adante is a major tool. After reading Ruled by Magic, I absolutely hated him. He is sadistic, often times cruel, and never ceases to let Talia forget that her role is to be his plaything, that she is there for his pleasure and nothing more. There's something special about her, though. She challenges him in so many ways, and makes him become almost loving to her at times, even if his methods are a bit unconventional.

I was excited to receive this book as an ARC, and to get to enjoy these characters.I wish I could read this book again for the first time! I'm greatly looking forward to more of their story, and having it intermingle with that of Livet and Leo from the first book.

When I opened this book, I did not expect to be completely captivated by this world! I could not put it down! (This is book #2 of a series, but book 1 & 2 can be read as stand-alones).

Talia is a fighter… she’s tough as nails and always keeps her wits about her. Super smart with a huge heart is a quick thinker; she’s spent the last few years trying to keep her remaining family safe. She entered the Collection as a means to an end but couldn’t have prepared herself for what commenced…

Adante, the crowned prince, is dark, dominant, and reigns terror over the women in the Collective. When Talia catches his eye, he wants more of her. Although he knows how to bring pleasure, he’s strict and harsh in his punishments. Although, who doesn’t like a little pain with their pleasure.

This book was a real gem - I felt Talia’s struggle throughout. The characters were all so raw and real. I love finding new to me authors! I’ll be downloading Book #1 soon! And cannot wait to see how she wraps everything up!

Oh boy.

The first book set the stage and this one built in that.

Going into this book I was feeling ambivalent toward Prince Adante. Didn’t think I could warm up to him and guess what ??? I did warm up. Maybe not 100% but getting his background helped.

In this book we get Thalia, a member of the Collection, finding herself favored by the prince. Of course she may have placed herself deliberately in his path. A girl has to do what she has to do to survive the palace and the men who come there to sate their desires.

These two were fun to watch as Talia is not like the others in her group. She’s intelligent for one thing and quite resourceful as well. One can see why the prince is letting his guard down.

Expect all the kinky steam and action in this one.

The third and final book should prove to be interesting since the showdown between Adante and Leo has me biting my nails because I don’t know who to side with.

* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

Warning if you have triggers to discipline or degradation or dubcon, skip this fab book and don’t give this great author a bad review based on your tastes….

Omg!!! This book is so sinfully good! Evil kings, a wickedly 😉 sexy prince, mages, and lots of 🥵🥵🥵 sign a girl up! Talia our main fmc has been through some rough times when she hatched a plan that could turn her life around for the better.
Enter the Collection- a harem of only the best and most gorgeous to satisfy the needs of the nobility and the royals.
Little does Talia know all the twists and turns that her not very thought out plan is going to lead her down once she meets the prince.
Will Talia survive her 5yr servitude or will the nobility and the prince prove to be too hot to handle?
Eagerly awaiting the next in the series
10 out of 10 recommend!!!🔥🔥🔥

This was my first fantasy book on a while, and it kind of blew me away. The concept was pretty original and I really loved how things played out.

I loved Talia and her fierceness. Adante made me want to scream. I consider it a great book when I get so emotionally charged that I have to put the book down and walk away for a moment. That means the writer has made me feel something and get in watered. I LOATHED Adante. To the point where I wanted to DNF this book.

However, he does have a pretty decent redemption arc. I do feel like the end was a tad bit rushed. I wanted to see more of Talia in her position at the end of the book. However, book 3 will show us that I am assuming.

I was gifted an ARC for review and I’m grateful for the opportunity. It was truly an unforgettable read that i throughly enjoyed.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

This may be book two in a series but it works as a standalone as we follow a different couple this time though there are references to the couple from book one. Talia has found herself in a difficult situation. She did something bad and is now being hunted. To save herself she accepts a place as a Courtesan in the palace. If she makes it five years she is free with enough money to pay her debt as well as create a new life some where else. The last thing she needs is the attention of the Prince but that does not stop her from being intrigued when she catches his attention. This leads to quite the romance I must say leading to a surprising conclusion. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book. Makes for quite the fun read. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
