Somehow, I missed the first two Winter Valley books, but now that I've met these characters, I plan to remedy that. That didn't hinder my enjoyment of Here with You in the slightest. There are some things I want to know more about, but the story stands alone. The authors give us enough information to get a good understanding of what happened in the past to come between Theo and Elisse, which is impressive with such a quick read.

I missed the first two books in this series so I feel like this can be read as a complete standalone. Would I appreciate the relationships around Theo and Elisse more, probably. Was I lost, definitely not. I have read a lot of Claudia Burgoa but I haven't read any books by Grahame Claire. This book didn't feel like two different people writing so it makes me want to add all the GC books to my TBR. I'm not sure if this series will actually continue I really hope so.
