A party, a drug deal gone wrong, and clean-up crew later and this innocent guy is suddenly wrapped up in the underworld with no way out and no one to blame but me.
He should hate me, right?
Some days he does, and other days there’s a very fine line between hate and lust.
I should do him a favour and put an end to whatever it is going on between us, since I’ll soon be leaving him here to deal with this shit on his own.

Everything Sarah writes, I love so much!!! Silent Hush, the first book in the Breaking the Silence series was utterly captivating and absolutely amazing!!! This is a dark romance, make sure to check the author’s website for trigger warnings.
Sarah is the queen of creating characters that steal your heart and worlds that leave you totally engrossed in the story. This book had me captivated and pulled in on the first chapter, it was a strong deadly start and it just kept getting better and better as you go.
This story takes place in the same world as the insatiable series. Our silent but deadly FMC, Dee is a girl with a past and connections to the underworld, who finds herself placed in Kitten’s home. Dee is the new foster child in Kitten’s home. Dee is an assassin, but also has a tragic past. She doesn’t speak by choice. When she chooses to communicate, it’s written.
Our MMC Jared is possessive and volatile and can’t help but feel intrigued about the mysterious and secretive Dee. Dee has some major walls built up around her, but slowly we see Jared put cracks in that wall. I absolutely loved these two characters, and how they finally found a way to connect, regardless of all the hidden secrets and obstacles in their way.
I love that we have dual POVs. Then we are hit with that killer cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more now. Overall this story was absolutely amazing. This book has a bit of everything spice, angst, fire, suspense, basically all the things that will cause you to keep flipping those pages. It will grab you right from the start and not let you put it down till the very end!!! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book it is going to be a wild and crazy ride.

Silent Hush grabs your attention right from page one and doesn't let go until the cliffhanger ending. (Uhm excuuuuuse me!? What was thaaaat!?) 😵💫
I will definitely be going back and checking out the rest of the Author's works.

OH MY GOD! Literally yelled this while reading this book! I loved the Insatiable series and I love being able to read about my favorite characters again and get to know our new FMC Dee. WHAT WAS THAT ENDING!? I am anxiously waiting for the next book! Amazing!!!

A fantastic surprise. It's attention-grabbing from the first page with an air of mystery, suspense, and action.

Picture this, a heroine that chooses not to speak, but everyone hears her loud and clear. She's a deadly assassin, has the biggest heart, and is chipped away and broken down into caring for the hero😍.
I love the story! It is filled with twists and turns that one could not anticipate.

Silent Hush is a new duet, based in the same world as Lexi and Rhys' stories. This time we get Jared's story, which I was super excited for!
Jared and Dee are such an unusual duo, but I was rooting for them just because I want Jared to move on from Lexi so badly. This book was much tamer that the others in the same world, with slightly fewer triggers and confronting topics. Jared's anger is definitely a concern though, and I'll be interested to see how that is managed in the second book in this duology.
I enjoyed Silent Hush, however I'm hoping for a bit more action and spice (especially after the Kitten trilogy!). I am curious to see what happens with Dee, and I'll be glad to pick up from the insane cliffhanger at the end of the book!
You do not have to have read Sarah J D's previous books to follow or enjoy this one.

YAY 🤗 I’m EXTREMELY EXCITED about this new series by Sarah JD 🤩 It’s off to such an amazing start!! Dee is fantastic!! She’s tiny, but boy is she tough!! She says her wrong was righted a long time ago, so she helps others, who still need their revenge. She absolutely loves it!! She is Kitten’s new foster sister (YES!! Rhys/Kitten from the Insatiable Series 🤗) We get Kitten and her guys back 😍 We also get Jared back (YES!! He was one of my favorites, out of Lexi’s guy friends, from The Heavy Hearts Series 😍) Lexi, her friends and Ayden are friends with Kitten and her guys!! They all go to the same college. Jared is licking his wounds, because one of his childhood best friends is in love with somebody else (Hello Lexi and Ayden 😉), and he hates all things love right now. He really thought he’d end up with her.
While hanging out with his friends, Kitten and her guys, Jared meets Dee. He tries to interact with her, but Dee just isn’t having it (and is a little mean to him), so he gets fed up and leaves. When they’re at school, Jared does his best to get a few rises out of Dee. She’s definitely intrigued now. Will Dee soften to Jared?? Will Jared find a new love of his own??

Silent Hush, the first book in the Breaking the Silence series by Sarah JD was utterly captivating and absolutely amazing!!! Sarah is the queen of creating characters that steal your heart and soul and worlds that leave you totally enthralled—and Silent Hush was right up there at the top!!! This story takes place in the same world as the insatiable series and I couldn’t have been happier to catch a glimpse of those that came before!
Our beautiful, quiet FMC Dee is a girl with a past and connections to the underworld, who finds herself placed in Kitten’s (yep. You heard me right!) home. And even though she may be small and silent, she’s definitely a deadly force to be reckoned with—and she has a plan set in place that once the job is done and she’s old enough, she’s gone. However she soon catches the eyes of one of the other guys there and things don’t stay calm for long! What can i say, the oh so possessive and volatile MMC Jarod can’t help but feel intrigued about the mysterious and secretive Dee and tries everything he can to get a reaction out of her. At any cost. And when he does and these two angry ruthless souls connect? Absolute perfection!!!
I absolutely loved these two characters, and how they finally found a way to connect regardless of all the hidden secrets and obstacles in their way. Oh. My. Gosh. Wow! I have so many different emotions running through my head after finishing this book that I don’t even know how to feel or what to think! All I know is that I have been looking forward to this book ever since I learned Jared would be getting his own story, and this book did not disappoint!!
Dee is the new girl in town with her own agenda and refuses to speak to anyone. Jared has been going through a tough time, but when Dee enters his life he finally finds a sliver of happiness - even if it’s just to annoy the new girl. He makes it his mission to get her to communicate with him, and each time she does it’s a small victory that makes him that much more interested in finding out her story.
When Jared finds himself in a bit of trouble one night, it’s Dee who tries to help him out. But in the end, she might have just made things worse for Jared, and he has to decide if she’s worth all the trouble.
I can honestly say that I absolutely devoured this book! The story just has a way of pulling you in and not letting go, and before you know it BAM! You’re left with a huge cliffhanger and dying for more!! I can’t wait for Savage Scream to release so I can find out what’s in store for these two!

Okay I have new favorite character - Dee/Hush. Just something about her that just grabs your attention. She’s fierce and strong. Can handle herself like no other. Her personality and stubbornness to keep silent as the world goes on around her is a delight to watch. And I loved watching Jared lose his mind over this pint size but lovable, young woman.
Jared has been a background character and not thrilled at times to see his buddies find love. Enter Dee and he is flummoxed by her muteness and feisty nature. There is a lot going on in her world and she has a dark side but it’s more like a dark Robin Hood one. Have to read to see why. Their steam level is going to be even more epic in the next book.
The cast of new secondary characters is very intriguing and that cliffhanger has me floored.

Dee (FMC) is Rhy's (The FMC in The Insatiable series) new foster sister but she has her own agenda for being there as well as her own deeply held secrets. Dee is a character full of contradictions which she plays upon to mask who she really is. Which makes her a much more complex and dangerous girl.
Jared on the other hand is an easy going guy but hes been using that to cover up that hes struggling and lonely within his own life. Its the dynamic (even if Dee doesnt speak) that is what kept me interested. Their relationship started out playful & somewhat sweet but as the book progressed it moved on to something slightly darker. I couldnt help but like them both though. That cliffhanger ending was exactly that and so flaming good

This book blew my freaking mind and deserves way more than only the 5 stars I can currently give. Prepare yourself for one emotionally packed ride of your life. I love that we have both Jared and Dee’s POVs . Dee has been put through some ish but she is a survivor and she only has herself to stay strong and protected but then she catches the eye of Jared and this is where their story begins. Dee has some major walls built up around her I am talking about the kind you don’t think you can ever break through but slowly we see Jared put crack in that wall and I am here for it. This baby has a bit of everything spice, angst, fire, suspense basically all the things that will want you to keep flipping those pages because you need to devour every single word. I absolutely loved it from beginning to end and that cliffy was a straight up guy punch so now I am dying for the next book.

Can't wait for the next one!
Soooo I didn't see this book starting out the way it does but I FLOVED the connection to the insatiable series and with that moment, I knew that I loved Dee already. As I was reading, I loved her more and more, she's protective, quirky in her own way and just very different and unique compared to other FMCs I've read about. I loved seeing her relationships develop, whether it was familial, socially or with Jared. I felt for Jared in the insatiable series that I've been buzzing knowing his get his own love and story.
The ending broke my heart and I am soooooo ready for the next book. This book is brilliant... It has a lot of dark themes so make sure to read the TW. Definitely recommend!

What another fabulous story. Sarah has certainly got the gift of putting words together to create an amazing story. When Dee comes to Fox Pines she is on a mission, but things very quickly get complicated when Jared takes an interest in her. I loved how the relationship between Dee and Jared went back and forth, and developed throughout the story. I also loved how all the previously loved characters from Fox Pines are so involved in this story. This is another moving story that just sucks you in from the very start so that you can't put it down. Of course the cliffhanger at the end leaves us desperate for the next book!

I absolutely loved Dee’s character! She is perfect for Jared, who really needs someone to put him in his place. That boy is lost out to sea and he needs a lighthouse! I’m very curious to know and understand more of Dee’s background but for now I am enjoying how absolutely formidable she is. The fear she strikes in other despite her age and size is impressive. I can’t wait for more!

Let me first say if I could give this book more than 5 stars I would! The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat! I couldn't stop turning the page...i needed answers. There was suspense, angst, a bit of steam and so much more. Told in duel POV, we get both Dee and Jared's. I love both are main characters. There were times I just waited to shake Dee though. Jared is slowly chipping away at Dee's tough exterior. I loved watching how they were changing each other. I cannot wait for book 2!! That ending!!!!

Jared's story is here! And omg I'm so ready for his story. Jared's story is not going to for the faint of hearts. This book we meet Dee Rhys new step sister. Even though these book are standalone its best to read Heavy heart series then the Insatiable series before this duet. Dee and Jared are thrown to the deep-end in this book. This story does leave off on an omg cliffhanger and I can't wait for book two.

In this book, we follow our FMC, Dee, a teenage assassin, and Jared, our possessive and volatile MMC. Dee is a new foster child in Kitten's home. Dee has her walls built up around her, but throughout the story we see Jared put cracks into that wall.
This was my first book by Sarah JD, and I enjoyed it a lot! I loved both characters, and how they found a way to connect. This story was great, and is filled with spice, angst, suspense that will have you turning the pages quickly. I was hooked from the beginning, all the way to the end. This book does end in a major cliffhanger so be aware of that! I can't wait to start the next book!

Nooo way!
What the f is all I screamed after the end of book 1 . With a cliff hanger like that you know this series is going to be fire! I need book 2 now . This book had me at the dve of my seat. Never mind that Dee wants to be silent and has massive secrets. Which means you must read this book to find out how awesome Dee is. Definitely recommend this book you won’t be disappointed.

It's one a.m. I finish this books and just start crying! It was definitely a roller coaster of emotions reading this one. I loved that it is in the same world as Kitten's story. I truly enjoyed this book! Cannot wait for the second one

Wow! Holy moly! I’m speechless (see what I did there 😜). But seriously. This book was amazing. Set in the same world as Lexi and Rhys’ series, we finally get Jared’s story. And boy was it a doozy. I need the next book!

This is my 1st book from Sarah & she did not disappoint! This book was amazing. I couldn’t put it down. I was totally captivated with the characters and needed to know what happened at every page turn. Mute assassin FMC & a Sweet but Obsessive MC. Ughhh this was sooo good and it ended on the ultimate cliff hanger. Cannot wait for book 2

This book had me captivated and pulled in on the first chapter it was a strong deadly start and it just kept getting better and better as you go. Dee is the new foster child in Kittens home I as super excited to see that this book was in the same world as Kittens. Dee is silent but deadly and she is there with a plan as soon as she turns 18, then she is gone. There is so much more to Dee then meets the eye and she has secrets she is keeping. Jarod has been feeling like the 5th Wheel for a while and is struggling with his feelings for Lexi when the new girl catches his eye. Dee intrigues him and he pushes her on a daily basis to get her to communicate with her. There is so much about this story that will keep you so captivated and intrigued but I don't want to give any spoilers away as you need to go in with your eyes wide open but go in blind. You will get so much more from the story that way. I loved Dee and Jarod and these two are so good together they just have to get over some situations and secrets they are keeping. I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. Dee is one bad A** character that you can't help but love her and Jarod he has been struggling and it was wonderful to see him become obsessed with Dee. Then we are hit with that killer cliffhanger that leaves you hanging. I absolutely can't wait for the next book it is going to be a wild and crazy ride. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

DAMN!! That was an incredible, adrenaline packed beginning, with a jaw dropping ending.
I was instantly hooked right from the very first page and could not look away. It had me gripping my kindle tightly, biting my nails with anticipation, and gasping at some of the very twisted and utterly jaw dropping moments throughout. It was one hell of a crazy rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to end.
Dee – wow – she is one hell of a young woman. She’s fierce, freakishly strong for her size and with crazy ninja skills, adorable and feisty. The fact that she is an assassin at such a young age makes me want to know everything there is to know about her. But in this part of the story, we only get little snippets of her past. I can’t wait to find out more about her.
Jared has this instant pull to the little firecracker Dee, and I was cheering him along the whole way. It was time for Jared to get his happy ever after, but there is a lot Dee and Jared must get through and overcome first. I loved their connection and the fact that Jared will not give up on her. There is just something about Dee that he can’t let go of.

The cliff hanger was brutal. 🥲 Jared’s persistence was annoying in the beginning, but I started to love him towards the end. However, I felt for him a lot and could relate to a few things of what he was going through. Such a fantastic book!

Now the new girl in town Dee refuses his advances and he is just happy to annoy her. She doesn't talk so getting a reaction is making him smile. So when Jared is in trouble, she tries to help and it just makes everything worse. Is Dee worth it or will Jared going to cut ties and move on?

Cliffhanger literally
I loved the fact that the fmc is mute (by choice) but is still so strong and a bad a$$, you can't tell she's gone thru something but we don't know yet. And Jared I love him he has such golden retriever energy but os still stuck one the past at the beginning with good reason to be. Until he meets dee. They don't understand they pull they have for each other and fight it hard, dee more then Jared. She is slowly giving in to him but something always stops her from fully giving in as much as she wants to. And that ending. It took a very bad situation for him to get what Jared what he wanted!!! So good and can't wait for book 2. Please check you tw's before reading .

This book is positively brilliant.
Dee comes to Fox Pines with a plan in mind, and a single minded focus and determination to achieve it. Having suffered trauma and having only herself to rely on for so long, it surprises Dee when she catches Jared's attention.
Having spent so long pining after someone that was not meant for him, Jared is also shocked when his focus is moved to Dee.
Jared has been struggling for some time, and he begins finding solace in the silent girl who he craves to hear.
Throw in suspense, spice, and some darkness and you have a thrilling romance book that ends on one hell of a cliffy.
