The stay-at-home mother of three dreams of what her life would’ve been had she followed her career aspirations.
Now that her children are teenagers, slowly leaving the nest, she’s burning with bitterness over the sacrifices she made, tethered to the resentments that have followed her through life.
When Jason Reed shows up at her door one morning with home renovation plans in his callused grip, her life begins to unfold in ways she never imagined.
At first glance, she’s certain the man walked off the set of one of her home renovation shows, but as she gets to know him better, a tangle of love and lust transpires, leaving her questioning her own husband’s loyalty.
What started as a fun read took an interesting turn in this debut effort. First, who has not daydreamed about good-looking men in toolbelts on the home improvement shows? Claire is just voicing our fantasies, but as the remodel in her home gets a little too close to her daydreams, she is now looking at her life choices. Clear your afternoon, pour a beverage, and enjoy this book and its cover.
Thank you to the Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Originally I thought this would be a quick fluffy read but this book was amazing!!! I mean, it was a quick read because I HAD to know what happened next but the storyline was awesome. It had unexpected twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. This book had me daydreaming, laughing and crying!!
Foreword PR is delighted to be working with debut author Madison Pike with the release of The Provider! The Provider is a passionate, forbidden love/love triangle, contemporary romance standalone novella. Visit here to find out how you can read early: The Provider
Not sure how I feel about this book.... David and Claire appear to be a normal married couple that met in college, fell in love and now they have 3 teenage children. It is mentioned that their first child was an accident and they married. Clair never finished her degree and David is a Partner at a Law Firm. It is bonus time at the firm and David get a larger check than normal... 200K. They decide to makeover their kitchen and Claire is ecstatic as she loves watching HGTV and all the cute handymen. When the contractor comes to start the job Claire get her own handsome HGTV looking guy and in addition to starting her kitchen, some other things get started.
I was not really impressed as much as I thought & hoped I would be with this storyline. Unsatisfied housewife, addicted to HGTV and her fantasies just didn't really keep my attention, but I finished the book. I was surprised how it ended, thought it was a little unrealistic and this was one book that didn't leave me with wanting more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The blurb doesn’t do the book justice. I anticipated a bitter woman who thought staying home as the mother of three children who needed her was a bad sacrifice over pursuing her career. I already didn’t like Claire Donovan. Priorities were definitely in the wrong place. But Jason Reed arriving for home renovation changes her life.
The twists and turns will keep the reader paying attention to see what will happen and how everyone will react. Grab your copy and see where this story line ends up. (I’ve already learned to stop guessing on this one. It’s more fun that way!)
I still can't wrap my head around what I was reading. This was a version of free pass, kind of. I don't mind cheating books but it kind of irritated me when Claire assumed her husband was also cheating...and was upset. She was also upset for a friend who was cheated on. Claire and David's marriage seemed to be happy with a fairly normal love life until Mr. Free Pass turns up the heat. I thought I had an idea of where this was going, but I definitely did not. I still don't know what to think, tbh.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
A story that you would think is the ‘usual’ romance genre, heck NO. Madison Pike puts in just the right amount of twists and turns to remind you that you can’t imagine the plot line completely. A definite page turner that will have you imagining this hunk in your home.
First, I want to comment on the cover. It is so delicious. The model is yum and the colors are beautiful. I loved this story. It was a different type of romance with interesting characters. Lovely dialogue and scene description. It was very entertaining because it had lust and a love triangle. I received a complimentary copy of this story and I freely left this review.
Claire is a stay at home mom of three with questions of what if she had finished her degree. Her husband is an attorney and their children are teens. A home renovation project leads to Claire meeting Jason, as he is redoing the kitchen. An interesting turn of events with this story.

"The Provider" was an OK story with a twist. The hot contractor and the housewife with grown up children. This was a different kind of "romance", not really what i expected but the plot was particular.
WOW! I wasnt expecting this! When I first started reading this. I almost quit. Thinking this book was just not for me. DO NOT QUIT! You will be unexpectally surpried! As a debut novella. I can't wait to see what else Madison writes!
