A BETRAYED BIKER.

A HAUGHTY ATTORNEY.

CAN THEY TURN AND FIGHT FOR WHAT IS THEIRS OR WILL THEY JUST KEEP RUNNING?

Colt thought he had it all.

Freshly released from a stint in prison, his next move is to get back to his motorcycle club and return to his live fast, die young lifestyle.

Until he realizes he’s been brutally betrayed.

He thought he was returning to his position as President of the Black Coyotes MC.

But it isn’t his MC anymore.

Usurped from his throne, he’s now a wanted man. A broken shadow of his former self, all he can do is turn and run.

Until a sassy, spoiled, all too familiar woman steps into the fray. April thinks her life is all sewn up and sorted. Little does she know her hidden connection to the dangerous outlaw MC makes her a target, too.

When their paths cross and they find themselves in a deadly chase against the MC, nothing will stop him from protecting April from the MC’s grasping claws.

But the chase requires more strength and courage from him than he fears he can give. Can he find it within himself to fight for what belongs to him? Even if it means fighting against himself. Can he outrun his own demons that hound him?

When an unconventional way out presents itself, can he rise from the ashes and walk alongside her on the road he fears to tread, or does he just keep running?

I loved this. I don't think that I have ever read a story like this. Ruby in my opinion has written wonderful characters in Colt and April. I felt for poor Colt. He spends time in prison. He takes one for the team and gets badly betrayed by his so called friends. Poor April gets kidnapped. They meet in one of the most interesting scenes. I loved it. Ruby writes wonderful scenes that are very entertaining.

Talk about page turner. I couldn't read fast enough. I love how it hooked me in. A new author that knows how to make intense characters that want to know outside of the fictional world. It was better than my morning coffee and so good that all the sweets in the planet are jealous. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I honestly went through the first 40% of this book planning to give it 2 stars. The beginning is incredibly slow and April annoyed the hell out of me within minutes. She was a spoiled attorney and Colt had just gotten out of a 5 year prison sentence after taking the wrap for his MC. The beginning of the chase started great, but became repetitive as the book continued. I'm not a huge fan of really slow burns, but I saw the potential.
Once April and Colt started a plan and they got their heads out of their asses about how much they loved each other, my opinion changed. April quit being whiny and Colt started realizing that he was worth April's love. Colt became the big softie that April needed and April became the anchor he needed. By the end of the book, I really liked April. There was no major cliffhanger at the end, so it can be read as a standalone but after reading the epilogue/prologue, I can't wait to see where this series goes (especially for Ash). Spoiler- There's a kitten with a wheelchair!! I enjoyed the book for the most part and the slow start did set a good foundation into the future books and the relationship between April and Colt.

I really felt bad for poor Colt. He spends time in prison taking one for the team. Colt gets badly betrayed by the MC, the reason he went to jail in the first place. In this book we meet April, as their story began to bloom April gets kidnapped. I felt April was a bit controlling as she made most decisions for Colt and he kind of went with it.

Colt gets out of prison to a loss and betrayal he never saw coming. He manages to save the woman he used to guard with his life, having fallen in love with her as a kid but knowing he didn’t measure up to what she deserved. When they go on the run, they learn a lot about themselves and each other while they fall for each other. They are VERY physically intense together. I love them rebuilding a life from the ground up and creating a new family together for themselves and others who need to. I am really looking forward to more story.

After going to jail and taking one for the MC Colt is betrayed. He finds that his role as President has been taken away and he now has a target on his back. This was an exciting story that kept me glued to the pages. It is well written with action-packed drama and characters that I not only connected with but found myself cheering for to get their retribution!

Colt was the President of Black Coyotes MC and ended up serving 5 years in prison to save the rest of his club. This book covers for the time from him leaving prison, returning to his club , their betrayal, a chase across the USA with April(the daughter of the President prior to Colt) and how they turn the tables and regain the Black Coyotes MC.

This is a great read full of action and adventure.

This was steamy, passionate and fierce!

I love the way the book was written and the way it just flowed. I read it one sitting.

I wasn't very fond of the quickly developed feelings between the main characters, but as the story progressed, their feelings deepened and became more emotional. That's where they got me.

The plot was unpredictable, and the whole story was deliciously dangerous, steamy, unfailingly entertaining, and engrossing.

Can't wait for more.

Colt and April

This is one of those books that once you start reading you can’t set it down because this author kept me glued to the pages. It was full of betrayal, angst, drama and steam with great characters in Colt and April.

Colt was the Prez of the Black Coyotes MC and ended up in prison for five years protecting his club. Now that very same club that he was protecting has betrayed him in the worst way possible…he is no longer the Prez and now he’s on the run with a target on his back.

April was an attorney with a past connection to the Black Coyotes MC as well and now she’s on the run as well from the very same club. This was full of twists and turns that made is a big page turner for me. I loved how Colt and April were anchors for one another and from that bloomed a chance at something real.

Very well done for a first-time author. I will definitely be reading more books from Ms. Bloom. After reading The Chase I’m looking forward to the second book in this series.

OMG this book is brilliant. At the beginning of the book you get to see how Colt and April meet. It’s definitely not a typical first meeting, I loved the connection between them right from the start and oh my god I need a Colt in my life! Especially after reading their first super hot encounter! It’s in chapter 11!
The story is brilliant and I really liked that it was a big book and not over in less than one hour like a lot of mc and mafia books. This book draws you in from the very first word right up until the last. First book I’ve read by this author and I can honestly say I have found a new favourite. It’s hot, it’s brilliant in its characters depth, has a brilliant story and I can’t wait to read the next book.

Colt used to be the Prez for the Black Coyote MC. 5 years ago, Colt took the fall for his club and went to prison... on the day of his release, things don't seem right. He finds out one of the members of his club betrayed him and took over his club. April, the daughter of the previous Prez and a lawyer, has also been kidnapped by the MC.

The Chase, has a little of a Bonnie and Clyde feel to it. It's a bit on a slow side.. drags in the beginning and heats up later. Overall, it's a fairly good read... It has some twists you don't really see coming..

An excellent start to a new series, and debut for author Ruby Bloom! Two people betrayed, in trouble, and trying to escape the danger and destruction awaiting them.

He chose to do time for his club. As the president of the Black Coyotes, Colt felt it was his job to step up and take the fall for his MC. He spent five years in prison and now its release day. Things aren’t going the way he expected though. His ride is late, they don’t show any respect for the cut or patches he wears, and his mind is going crazy trying to figure out what’s going on. When they get back to the club it’s quiet and deserted. Still wondering what’s going on, Colt, asks for a whiskey.

She has done well for herself. Her father, the past president of the Black Coyotes MC, made sure that she was protected and kept away from the life he was living. April’s an attorney, does well for herself, is engaged to the proper man for her standing, but now she finds herself blind folded, with her hands tied and shoved into the back seat of a car. When she finally gets out and can see what’s going on she has no idea why she’s been brought to a run-down bar.

I loved this debut novel by Ruby Bloom and the start of a new MC series. Its action packed. Colt is a man that finds himself in self-doubt. Colt is a great character that is relatable, he isn’t so sure of himself and his past left him that way. April’s life is not what she thought she knew. She had no idea who Colt was until this day and now that she knows him, she finds herself falling for the man that is trying to protect her. I love Colt and April. They’re great characters and I love them. I can’t wait for more of this series.

This was the first book in this MC series. This wasn't like most of the other MC books I have read previously. There was some content that some readers may have a difficult time reading such as threats of the rape of women, there is also violence against women i.e. kidnapping. I was surprised at the way this story played out and the large role April played in the way the story played out. April made a lot of the decisions for Colt and her future and Colt went along with the ideas. I was surprised at the lack of violence and action in the story. I am used to MC books having more action and violence. There is a lot of chemistry between Colt and April and the intimate scenes between the two of them are steamy. The story had several twists in it that I did not see coming. My major problem was that the story seemed to drag along in several places. I had a difficult time actually finishing this story because I felt it was too slow. I did enjoy the ending, of course that's where the majority of the action is and it ends in a happy ending.

Loved Colt and April amazing read!

The Chase is Book 1 in the Black Coyotes MC story. This stand alone MC romance is a debut for Bloom. It’s a forbidden, forced proximity, grumpy alpha hero, angsty, and edgy HEA that will leave you wanting more. The plot twist in this book was super unexpected, but kept me guessing, and fully engaged in the story. Colt was a true rebel in more ways then one, but deep down he had been betrayed and wanted revenge. April was the daughter of the previous MC president, making her an easy target. She was smart, sassy, and had an edgy side that was well hidden. When Colt and April find themselves against the fence, they will fight till the death to make things right. This was a well written story, a great MC romance read and I can’t wait for the continuation with book 2 in the series, The Taste.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book to review. The story is about a MC a club prez (Colt) who went to prison to save his club from the fallout of a job gone bad.
Upon his release 5 years later, he finds himself back at his club, expecting to be celebrated and instead things have changed- not for the good.
He encounters a blast from the past in the form of the daughter (April) of his mentor/ father figure (the prez before him). They are both at a disadvantage and the club wants to use and abuse and hurt them, and that’s when the chase begins..
The chase leads through several states we get to meet some interesting and likable side characters, but the black Coyote MC tail is never far behind.
This book has a likable MC and the FMC grew on me, there’s a lot of insta lust and it is spicy, it does have a HEA and there’s an epilogue that segues into the next book.

"He wanted her to hate him, to leave him, to make it easier for him."

What a perfect name for this book, The Chase. That's exactly what Colt and April spent most of the book doing. Colt was a very different type of MC Prez. I just loved him. And April was an unexpected delight as well. Clearly they fell hard and fast for each other and together they were stronger. There were some surprising turns although the climax was a little underwhelming. My favorite character, though, was Ash, the concierge. What an adorable charmer. I'm excited to see he will be a returning character as I want a lot more of him for sure. Solid debut novel, I'm definitely ready for book two.

I struggled through the first part of this book and was planning to give it 2 stars. The beginning is incredibly slow and April annoyed the hell out of me within minutes. She was a spoiled attorney and Colt had just gotten out of a 5 year prison sentence after taking the wrap for his MC. The beginning of the chase started great, but became repetitive as the book continued. However ... Once April and Colt started a plan and they got their heads out of their asses about how much they loved each other and stopped running, my opinion changed. They became less divaish and more Bikerish.

I didn't see where this was going as I started reading. Boy did it go places I didn't guess. What a story spun out to show how an MC comes back from being burnt. The strength of Colt to be the Prez he was meant to be. The humble respect & guidance he accepts from April who is an excellent Old lady material is wonderful. Amazing story indeed.

Colt is the former Prez of the Black Coyotes MC and took the fall for a bad deal and spent 5 years in prison. When Colt gets out of prison and heads to the clubhouse, he finds that he has been betrayed by a former member, Cleaver, who has taken over the MC. April is kidnapped by the MC and they have her at the clubhouse at the same time Colt shows up. He saves her and the two go on the run together. There are some plot twists, some obvious and some not so much, that kept my interest in the book. There are places where the pace slows and things bog down a bit. The characters were well developed, I was not a fan of April until she got off her high horse and got a little dirty, and their chemistry was great together. This is a great intro to a new series and a new author, looking forward to more.

This story is dark, raw, gritty, twisted, brutal, cruel, emotional, and powerful. This is a well written story which this dynamic duo has done an outstanding job in weaving this tale, and I look forward to reading the more books in this series.

I loved Colt and April. Their chemistry was evident even when they were not necessarily acknowledging it. Once they admitted how they felt, they seamlessly fell in sync with one another to form a true partnership.

I thought Colt’s view on what the MC SHOULD be was beautiful and showed just how amazing of a guy he was. I appreciated that April could own up to her missteps and open herself up to the opportunity and idea of what could be.

There were many plot twists, and while I had theories about the reunion and was right, I was still surprised when it happened. This is especially true as the truth is fully revealed. It was incredible to see the different relationships evolve and grow from past hurts. The author did a great job building a world that lures you into the story and leaves you wanting more, and I am ready for what’s next.

Colt was everything!!

A Bonnie and Clyde type of romance in the MC world! Where April thought she needed a straight lace, perfect life, she would find herself to be wrong when her fathers past shows up for a debt…only her knight in shining armor isn’t a wealthy, white collar kind of guy, but a filthy biker with nothing to offer but an escape. Experiencing new feelings for the both of them, developing feelings and growing love, along with finding safety and comfort in one another. They might have to fight for a clean slate, but they will fight together. The Chase is a wild, unpredictable, dangerous, and beautiful ride…One that will have your heart soaring.
